Presented by the Iranian Music Society of BC, this special performance by the Naghmeh Ensemble featuring Naghmeh (vocals), Ramin (daf), and Fari (tar) offered an unforgettable and inspiring experience for the community, especially for the seniors in attendance. This concert was part of a year-long initiative to bring live Persian music to seniors in British Columbia. We are honored to share the beauty of Persian musical heritage and to create moments of joy, connection, and cultural appreciation through music. VenuSia, with the goal of bridging the musical traditions of the East and West, will perform folk songs and melodies from various cultures in different languages, presented in two categories. The second category features modern creations by Iranian artists both well-known and lesser-known who, inspired by traditional music and fusing it with contemporary trends, have connected a new generation to this art form.

A live performance of traditional and sacred tanbour music from the Kurdish regions of Iran. This event featured members of the Rebwar Ensemble, four musicians dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of tanbour, a spiritual and symbolic instrument deeply rooted in mysticism, mythology, and oral tradition.
The program includes classical pieces from Kurdish tanbour maqams, as well as original compositions. In addition to three tanbour players, the ensemble includes tombak (Persian drum) and daf (frame drum). One piece will also feature the tanburag, a rare melodic-percussive instrument from Baluchistan.

In Se-Nava, they strive to foster a musical dialogue between past and present, East and West, classical and modern instruments, breathing new life into the timeless melodies of Persian music through the evocative sounds of the handpan, tar, and kamancheh. Se-Nava is an innovative fusion ensemble formed by three musicians with diverse musical backgrounds: Narin (handpan), Danial (tar), and Shahed (kamancheh). Their vision is to create a fresh, immersive experience in fusion music, blending traditional Iranian sounds with contemporary instruments' modern, meditative qualities.
